Basket Raffle is Saturday, September 13th

The Arc of Orleans County Basket Raffle

16 E. Academy St, Albion
(Old Grammar School - South Door)
 
The Arc of Orleans County is no longer holding the Signature Series event but is replacing it with the Basket Raffle. In addition to the many baskets that will be raffled off, we will have a raffle for a $250 VISA card and a Money Tree raffle, plus a new spinning wheel game. We will also have food and drinks available for sale at the event.
 
You can also help us by donating a basket or item for the raffle. Baskets can be dropped of at The Arc's Main Office, 122 Caroline Street, Albion; or we can have an event volunteer pick up your basket. Please call Darlene Golson, Community Relations Manager, at 585-589-5516 ext. 228, to schedule a pick up time. We could also use baskets/containers to put items in; if you have any that you could donate to us, we would appreciate it.
 
If you are unable to put a basket together and would like to support the event, we have two sponsorship levels available. The Friend/Basket Sponsorship is $50 and the Raffle Sponsorship is $100, but any amount is welcome.
 
Your gift will be acknowledged in the basket flyer, in the raffle area, on our social media outlets, as well as in a special section of an upcoming newsletter.
 
All proceeds benefit the Legacy of Love Arc Endowment.

Arc of Orleans Attends Celebration in Albany

A group of staff and individuals served from The Arc of Orleans County has the pleasure of joining others from around the state in Albany on Friday, July 11th, to celebrate NYSARC, Inc.'s 65th anniversary.

Arc of Orleans joins in the celebration


Speakers included John Robinson and Doug Hamlin from Our Ability, who stopped in Albion recently on their Journey Along the Erie Canal.  They biked from Buffalo to Albany over a two week period.  NYSARC's Executive Director Marc Brandt also spoke; he will be retiring later this year.

Following the event, everyone gathered at Riverfront Park for lunch and entertainment by the band, Flame.  Flame is a group of talented musicians from the Lexington/Fulton County Chapter who happen to have disabilities.

DUTIES: Provides direct hands on supervision, training and counseling to people with disabilities in a variety of vocational & community settings.
QUALIFICATIONS: Working level knowledge of production techniques, methods and/or training involving adults who are disabled.  Experience with the developmentally disabled preferred along with factory and other entry level type of experience helpful.  Demonstrates skills equivalent to a high school diploma.  Ability to deal with people at all organizational levels, good administrative, organizational, problem solving, training and oral & written communication skills required.  Capable of completing SCIP, CPR & other required training. Must be available to work weekends, holidays & evenings.  Must be flexible.  Needs a valid NYS driving license and meet MVR guidelines.
STARTING RATE: Grade 7DC - $9.28/hr.

QUALIFICATIONS: Working level knowledge of people with disabilities, provide supervision, training, support of daily living skills and activities to people with disabilities in vocational/community settings.  Ability to deal with people at all organizational levels, good administrative, organizational, problem solving, must be able to complete required trainings and oral & written communication skills required. Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs. Need a valid NYS drivers license.
STARTING RATE: Grade 7DC - $9.28/hr. 
Direct Support Professionals who are currently paid at grade 9, will continue to be paid at grade 9.
