This week is Direct Support Professionals Week and we would like to send out a big "THANK YOU" to all of our direct support staff who work so tirelessly day in and day out to provide quality care to all of the individuals served by The Arc of Orleans County! POSITION:PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT FULL TIME

LOCATION:RAINBOW PRESCHOOL –BATAVIA
Duties: Plans, organizes, directs and controls a program directed at the design and implementation of individual physical therapy sessions for each child that are adaptable to home and classroom use.
Qualifications:
Physical Therapy Assistant degree. NYS certified. A minimum of two years experience providing physical therapy services is required for PTA to deliver services in home. Must have good administrative, interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with people at all organizational levels; an aptitude for directing and motivating people is required. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

TV Series To Examine Life During Transition
A new show focusing on the experiences of five young adults with intellectual
disabilities is coming to television. “The Specials” originated as a series of award-winning 10-minute webisodes and
has been adapted to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Meals On Wheels Volunteer Drivers Needed
Are you interested in helping the seniors in Orleans County? Do you have some extra time on your hands? We have the perfect opportunity for you!
The Arc of Orleans County’s Nutrition Program —Nutri-Fair/Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteer drivers for several routes in Orleans County.
Volunteers begin their shift at 10:45 am. The current routes take 1 to 2.5 hours to complete. You can volunteer Monday through Friday, once a week, or monthly—it’s your choice. Perhaps you would like to team up with your spouse or a friend and drive a route together!
Volunteers must have their own vehicle, a valid NYS Drivers License, and be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Volunteer drivers will receive a mileage reimbursement that changes in conjunction with fluctuating gas prices.

Tickets for VISA Card and Money Tree Raffles Available NOW
The Arc of Orleans County Basket Raffle is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th, at the Nutri-Fair congregate site, 16 E. Academy Street, Albion (south side.)
We are selling tickets in advance for two of the special raffles we will be holding that day - a VISA Card Raffle and a Money Tree Raffle. The VISA Card is valued at $250; the money tree will have $250 in money and lottery tickets on it, but you could win millions if you hit the jackpot on the lottery!
