VOCATIONAL CASE MANAGER - Orleans Enterprises
Full Time – 40 hours per week
Works with adults who are disabled to increase their vocational independence through counseling & maintaining individual rehabilitation plans. Assists in meeting vocational needs, conducts vocational case reviews, monitors attendance, progress, productivity, collects observational data for various assessments, plans and implements programs of instruction for training time, provides referrals & linkages as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: A college level knowledge in vocational rehabilitation typically acquired through a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or Psychology is required. A comparable combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. One year performing duties in a human services related field is required. Good administrative, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving & oral & written communication skills are required. Must possess a valid NYS driving license and meet the agency Motor Vehicle Guidelines.
Starting rate: Grade 11 Step 1 - $10.18/hr.

The Arc is participating in the NYSARC Convention Theme Design Competition

The Arc of Orleans County, one of fifty-five chapters of NYSARC, Inc., is pleased to announce the kickoff of the 2010 NYSARC, Inc. Convention Theme Design Competition. The winner of the competition will win a new laptop computer donated by CMI Communications in Rochester, NY as well as an etched glass award.

Individuals eligible to enter the design competition include Arc staff and their families, individual served by The Arc, family members of people served, and chapter members. New York State students in grades seven through twelve and those in college are also eligible to participate.

All designs will be on display at the NYSARC Convention being held October 14th through 16th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany, New York. Convention attendees will have the opportunity to view and vote on their favorite artwork. The winning artwork will be used for the 2011 NYSARC, Inc. Annual Convention which will carry the theme “Advocacy in Action: Moving Forward.”

The deadline to submit a design is Wednesday, September 15th. Those interested in submitting their original artwork should contact Denise Withey, Community Relations Specialist at The Arc of Orleans County for an application and all contest rules. 40th Anniversary Events!

The Arc is continuing to celebrate our 40th Anniversary with several upcoming events in July and August of 2010.

You’ll be able to rock to the music of the 1970’s, get your car washed, eat some goodies, and perhaps win the door prize if you join us from 10:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at The Arc’s Auto Detail located at 11337 Maple Ridge Road, Medina. Feel free to come dressed up in your 1970’s finery! Platform shoes are optional. Rain date is scheduled for Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 10:00 to 2:00.

On Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm., The Arc will hold a Founder’s Fair at Camp Rainbow (2272 Townline Road in Lyndonville, NY) to celebrate our 40 years! It will be a special day of family fun, food, and fantastic music. We will be recognizing those folks who made The Arc of Orleans County possible – our founders. The group Flame will be performing from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Flame is an extremely talented group that happens to be made up of individuals with developmental disabilities. They have traveled the world performing as well as appeared on such television shows as Good Morning America. We will have Chicken BBQ, hotdogs, basket raffle, quilt raffle, 50/50 raffle, and many games for people of all ages.
