Arc of Orleans Annual Golf Tournament a Success!

The Arc of Orleans County held their 36th Annual Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 12th, at Hickory Ridge Golf and Country Club in Holley.  After being rained out on May 31st, the day was beautiful!

144 golfers enjoyed a day of golfing with their friends, while helping raise over $26,000 for Camp Rainbow through basket, 50/50, and other raffles.  Following their golf outing, they gathered with volunteers for a chicken dinner with strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Winners of the tournament were announced following dinner.  Men's Team winners were Scott Budde, Brian Burke, Eric Sheffer, and Scott Weatherwax.   Mixed Team winners were June Crawford, Jarrod Crawford, Dan McKinney, and Rich Molisani.

The Arc would like to thank the golfers who rearranged their schedules to play on our rain date, the many area businesses who sponsored the event, prize and food donors, volunteers who helped at the event and Hickory Ridge Golf & Country Club.

“Our Ability’s” Third Annual Journey Along the Erie Canal

John Robinson arrived in Albion on Tuesday morning after a 25-mile ride in the rain on the historic Erie Canal Towpath.  He rode his 3-wheel adaptive hand cycle from Lockport to Albion, joined by his wife and 12 year old son.

After a reception at The Arc’s Dayhab Academy Street Site, Robinson and crew continued on to Spencerport in an effort to raise awareness as well as funds for adaptive sports, education and employment support of people with disabilities.

The group will also make stops in Syracuse, Rome, and Utica, along with several others, before arriving in Albany on July 10th.
