Tamara Caldwell & Arthur Washak Honored for Work in 2012

The Arc of Orleans County held their Staff and Board Holiday Open House on Friday, December 14th and honored two of their staff for their hard work and dedication to the Agency in 2012.

Tamara "Tammy" Caldwell received The Arc's Employee of the Year Award for her work at Rainbow Preschool.  Tammy has been with the Agency for almost 23 years.  She has worked in many different programs throughout the Agency, and has worked at Rainbow Preschool for the past 15 years.  This year was a difficult year for the Preschool, with the resignation of the director just before the start of the school in the fall.  Tammy also took on the task of coordinating and working on the State audit, an undertaking that is physically and mentally draining.  Even this all her additional duties,  she is always ready and willing to help the staff at both the Albion and Batavia sites.  Tammy's hard work and dedication to the the Agency, the children served, and their families is appreciated by all.  Congratulations, Tammy!

Arthur "Archie" Washak was the recipient of the Edward S. Woods Sr. Direct Support Professional of the Year Award.  Archie began working at Stork Street several years ago after retiring  from Harrison Radiator.  He wanted to do something rewarding a few hours a week.  Archie has been the reward for Stork Street  and the Agency.  He is one of the first faces to greet the residents each morning and is instrumental in ensuring their day starts out  on a positive note.  Archie is a part-time staff, but he took the time to complete a 32 hour course to become med certified.  He is also a van training instructor for the Agency.  Thank you, Archie, for your dedication and commitment to The Arc and the individuals we serve!
