The Arc of Orleans County
held their 37th Annual Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 5th, at
Hickory Ridge Golf and Country Club in Holley. The day started a
little rainy, but the skies held back for the most part throughout the
day. The golfers braved the wind, and they seemed to enjoy themselves in spite
of the not quite perfect weather.
144
golfers enjoyed a day of golfing with their friends, while helping raise over
$27,000 for Camp Rainbow through the giant basket raffle, 50/50 raffles on the
holes, and other raffles. Attendees enjoyed a hot dog lunch with nachos,
fresh veggies, and cookies from Case-Nic Cookies in Medina. Following their
golf outing, they gathered with volunteers for a chicken dinner prepared by
Hickory Ridge and strawberry shortcake for dessert made with Watt's famous
biscuits.
Winners of the tournament were announced following dinner.
Men's
Team winners were Scott Budde, Brian Burke, Eric Sheffer, and Scott
Weatherwax.
Women's
Team winners were Debbie Hughson, Shelly Kordish, Deirdre
Staley, and Pamelia Taylor.
We had two winning teams for the Mixed
Team competition.
Winners were Team 13B June Crawford, Jim Kalinski, Dan McKinney, and
Wendall McKinney, and Team 18B Jim Foss, Christin Thompson, Dean Cadieux, and Chris Bacon.
