New Garden at the Marshall Road Residence

The gardens and patio area at the Arc house on Marshall Road in Medina recently got a makeover. A big project that involved landscaping, planting, and redecorating has made this home just a bit more beautiful and cozy.

House Manager Wendy Eden wrote, "The Marshall Road crew and the guys (that live there) have worked decorously to take a jungle of weeded nonsense and turn it into a beautiful garden, complete with Bistro. This team exemplified "Team Work" as there were many debates, ideas, opinions, and jokes flying, and this was the result. Staff worked hand in hand with the guys, teaching about horticulture, proper use of gardening tools, plant types, care, and maintenance. The guys learned valuable tips, as did the staff. Thank you to all the staff and guys! Very proud to call this home."

Wendy also shared this tip that she learned from the experience: "Use leftover tea and coffee grounds to acidify the soil of acid-loving plants such as azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias, and even blueberries. A light sprinkling of about one-quarter inch applied once a month will keep the pH of the soil on the acidic side."
