Did you know The Arc of Orleans has an Auto Detailing Shop
at the Gardner’s CITGO at 11337 Maple Ridge Road in Medina, NY? If you answered no, we aren’t surprised. Sharyl Thomas, Direct Support Professional in
the Vocational Department stated, “People in the area still don’t know we are
here.” Surprising, as Auto Detail moved
to the Gardner’s CITGO location in 1998.
Prior to 1998, it was located at the old armory building in Medina. The program is run by The Arc’s Vocational
Department with Sharyl Thomas supervising.
Cindy Dowdall, Joe Battle, Jennifer Tabor, and LJ Jurs are the
hard-working individuals served by the Agency that take great pride in detailing
your vehicles. They work on cars,
pick-ups, mini-vans, and conversion vans.
They will even work on tractors, boats, and tractor trailer cabs.
Valerie Riemer from Waterport, long-time patron of Auto
Detail, has had a weekly appointment there for many years. Valerie stated, “I think it’s awesome. They do a fantastic job. The workers are friendly and go about their
work. It’s a great way for me to help
out and they in turn help me by providing me with a nice clean car.”
Auto Detail is open year round and is run Monday through
Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Please call
